...Sounds rather familiar?:“Lawrence Kurnarsky, director, writer - doctorscreenplay.comUpdated 2 Oct 2014 • Upvoted by Marc Bodnick, Former Stanford PhD student in PoliticsVery often when the Great Buffoon loses a war meant to redeem "our glorious empire," etc., the people rise up and kill him. That tells us little to nothing, since most of those people may have maintained enthusiastic flag waving support for the Fearless Leader had he kept winning his glorious battles. This is not true, however, with Italy. Hanging Mussolini's corps from a lamp post by its heels was symbolic of the triumph of the forces in Italy that had been fighting Fascism for decades. This is completely different from the situation in Germany when, after the war , suddenly, everyone was against Hitlerism - and always had been. Have you ever heard of anti-Nazi German partisans, such as existed in the USSR, Poland, Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, Greece, and Italy? Sadly though, after the triumph of the left over the right in Italy, the CIA and other Western intelligence forces partnered up with the right and unreformed Fascists, and committed not just acts of propaganda, but acts of assassination and terrorism, to eliminate and intimidate the left, which was indeed largely composed of communists and socialists, who would have, no doubt, been on the side that would have won a fair election and would have taken over the government. The fear, of course, was that this would have put Italy within the Soviet sphere. I must say, the fear may have been justified, but that's how it's supposed work in a democracy. So democracy, had to go out the window, despite all that blood and treasure shed to preserve it in the world. After all, it had been decided at Yalta that Italy would be capitalist, so screw civil rights and democracy. Below is from a scholarly source, the Encyclopedia Britannica, and concerns the words if not the true spirit of the Yalta accord: "The agreements reached, which were accepted by Stalin, called for “interim governmental authorities broadly representative of all democratic elements in the population…and the earliest possible establishment through free elections of governments responsive to the will of the people.” Note that the USA and friends were unwilling to leave the decision in Italy to the will of the people. There was a repeat of something very similar in Chile in 1972, where the USA combined forces with Chilean Fascist to overthrow the elected Socialist government of Allende. Thousands of democratic socialists and leftists died, were executed, were tortured, and went into exile as democracy was cynically unseated in service to capitalism.So, were the Italians punished enough? They lost their right to decide on the direction of their country. In fact, they were denied democracy. Is that a just punishment, though?”https://www.quora.com/Were-the-Italians-punished-for-their-involvement-in-WW2....αλλά πιστεύω πως έχει να κάνει με το "psyche" του κάθε λαού. Κακά τα ψέματα στην συλλογική συνείδηση οι Ιταλοί είχαν και «λίγη ανθρωπιά» ρε αδερφέ, οι Γερμανοί ήσαν τα «κτήνη» (και οι Βούλγαροι, στο Βορρά).______________Una giornata particolare, είναι -άραγε- μία ταινία που ρομαντικοποιεί τους Ιταλούς, παράλογα;
